From Kitchen Experiments to Kenya’s Leading Beverage Brand: The Drunkenape Journey

Two years ago, I decided to take a leap into the unknown and craft something truly unique.

Today, I’m proud to say Drunkenape is one of Kenya’s leading RTD beverage brands, redefining how people experience drinks.

Here’s how it all started 👇🏾

In 2021, I was at a crossroads in Nairobi.

The pandemic had disrupted life as we knew it, and like many others, I found myself searching for purpose.

During this time, I noticed something intriguing: people craved connection, joy, and memorable experiences, even while stuck at home.

That’s when I got an idea: What if I could create a drink that was more than just a beverage? A drink that embodies adventure, fosters community, and champions sustainability?

I have always been passionate about crafting cocktails, a passion that began back in campus during house parties. I loved experimenting with different ingredients to create unique flavors that stood out. So, I took that passion further, mixing and refining recipes right in my kitchen, blending bold and unexpected flavors in glass jars.

The mission was simple but bold: to make high-quality cocktails accessible, while championing sustainability.

Fast forward to 2023.

The buzz was growing. People loved the taste and appreciated the eco-friendly packaging.

But I realized there was more to be done. I wanted to build a brand that wasn’t just about great drinks — it was about redefining how we enjoy life, responsibly.

I moved all in.

I worked long nights refining recipes, talking to customers, and perfecting our craft.

And slowly, Drunkenape began to take shape.

We launched officially with a clear vision: to deliver quality, flavor, and sustainability — in every sip.

The journey since has been incredible.

We’ve grown from kitchen experiments to:

• Serving thousands of happy customers across Kenya.
• Expanding into coffee-infused mocktails to cater to everyone.
• Hosting unforgettable events like Sip and Paint at Tigoni , Game nights at Triple two in Loresho and collaborations with travel Enthusisast like Auwana camping .
• Launching our mobile bar subsidiary, “The Ape Bar,” to bring the Drunkenape experience to events everywhere.

Looking back, the numbers tell the story:

• Hundreds of events served.
• Thousands of bottles sold.
• A growing community that shares our values of flavor, adventure, and sustainability.

Drunkenape is now almost 4 years old 🥳

And at Drunkenape, we’re driven by two core beliefs:

This year, we’re gearing up for even more:
